The earring hooks on this set are Gold Filled. As a step down from solid gold, but at a fraction of the solid gold price, gold filled items have a much thicker layer of gold on them, and the gold is a much higher quality.
The benefit of gold filled is that you can wear it in water, without worrying that it will tarnish. In fact due to the amount of gold that is in the gold filled items, it wont tarnish, and all it takes is soap and water to clean and bring out its beautiful brilliance once again.
